pictures

there’s been a lack of words on here…had a crazy week and a half with cassie’s wedding and family in town.

but i’ve been trying to put some pictures up from the last few days. i grabbed a handful of pictures from mom’s camera and uploaded them to my flickr site (sorry mom, i stole them) of the wedding and i will try and get some more up in the next day or so. we had pictures from family hanging out at the house, and a few from going to pumpkin fest in downtown franklin today with mom and dad and gracie. look out for them!

(the picture’s clicky to the flickr site, fyi)

one hot couple

in other news, we’ve been seriously puppy hunting…and we’re visiting some breeders around the nashville area tomorrow. although not our original plan, there is a chance that we may come home with a new addition tomorrow. are we crazy? i think so, but i can’t seem to do anything about it except give in.

costco lockout

we are very excited to be housing mom and dad (and dena and molly and the kids) for cassie’s wedding this weekend. being that mom and dad didn’t really want to sleep on gracie’s lumpy futon, we decided to buy a mattress set and turn our guest room actually into a guest room.

the night started with me meeting wil and tom at costco…they were borrowing a friend’s car to rope the mattress to (with a rack on top). within minutes of their arrival, they lock their keys in the car. ok, not too good of a start. that’s ok, renee (the lender of the car) was surprisingly happy to drive her spare key down to us while we shopped for the mattress.

we buy the mattress set and hang out outside while renee is on her way. i run to taco bell to bring back food, to come back to both of the boys laying on the mattress on the flat bed cart in the middle of the parking lot. ha. (why is it that boys will not sleep in the same bed at the same time, but they can both lay on a plastic wrapped mattress?) thankfully it didn’t take too much time for renee to make it out to let us into her chevy so we can start loading the mattress.

well, within 10 minutes or i go to roll my windows up as it’s starting to sprinkle- i reach in through the window, put the keys in the engine to turn it on enough to roll the windows up. i pull the window lever, forgetting that the window automatically goes up the whole way, so i quick pull my arm out to not get cut off and i unknowingly watch the window roll up and close…locking the car, with the keys in the ingition and my purse on the seat. the boys can’t believe what i did when i squeal about what just happened.

since we at least had access to the chevy, we loaded the mattress with hundreds of pieces of twine (and i am not exaggerating when i say twine…let’s just say we took the back road home) and made our way to the house, fingers crossed that we wouldn’t be locked out of the house, since renee was using wil’s keys and my keys were a bit preoccupied. lucky for us we still have the central oregon mentality ever so often and we leave doors unlocked.

we dropped the mattress off, made the trek to costco once again, jumped my car (remember, all the lights were on) and gave a sigh of relief that we were in both cars once again, we had bought the mattress and we made it home…it only took 4 hours… : )

10th dimension

I’ve always been intrigued by the mystery of the dimensions and this video does a great job not only explaining the differences in the early dimensions, but offers an interesting theory of the later dimensions. Enjoy

thursday night via webcam

the only thing exciting in my life right now is that i got two custom carpets today (aka: remnants from old jobs that my carpet lady cut down and bound for me) and i now have carpet in the downstairs living areas. since my thoughts at this point don’t extend beyond how the carpet feels between my toes, i thought i’d do a webcam photo storyboard of my night, right now, at this moment. and then you’ll understand why days pass on this website without an update. *it’s dark in here, so these pictures are pretty crappy and somewhat hard to see. meh, who cares.

madden 2008

this is currently my straight on view. madden football is on the tv, while wil, tom and matthew play.

the man

if i look to my left, wil is thinking hard about what play to choose next.

tom and matthew

if i look to my right, tom’s sitting on the other side of me on the couch, with matthew beyond him. wil and i have gotten to know them pretty well at work, and they have gotten to be regular hang-out-ers at our house. it’s fun.

bleh

this is what i think.

she luurves the carpet

gracie likes the new carpet a lot. she keeps walking around in circles to sniff it and test it out (there’s one in here in the den, and another in the living room). it’s very apparent how much she loves it. she just keeps laying down and rolling her head around on it every few minutes. i think she really appreciates being able to lay most anywhere on the floor comfortably now.
