alright folks…drum roll please….
the photos page has been developed! click on the photo gallery ever so often to see albums of all sorts of photos: my drawings/art, people in my life and stuff that goes on here.
as of now i only have a few albums, and nothing is really “new”. but it’s a start! i will try to post updates on this page when there’s something totally new. or you can just check back on your own, as you never know when i may change little things around.
note: to get back to this site, you’ll have to click the back button- there is not yet an easy link to click. sorry

well… after changing the layout of my website (a couple times), i like where it is right now. i like how it looks and how it is layed out. i also like how easy it is to manipulate into doing what i want it to. i have created a new photogallery (because the old galleries were pathetic and didn’t work with this current theme). it is a flash gallery so you need to have some sort of version of flash 8 installed. give it some time to load the images. i really like how neat this looks and how i can load large amounts of photos. being able to create separate albums for everything is nice too. get ready for a few very large albums that have pre wedding, ceremony/reception, and honeymoon pics in them!
i hope all is well with everyone!

i decided that you either hate or love kinkos. there is no in between.
i love kinkos…
most of the projects done in school require some sort of complex copying or perfect printing, which obviously requires a bit of outsourcing. more often than not i hear complaints about people going to kinkos and spending way too much money on one print/copy job. or they talk about how rude the people are. but me, i’ve never had a bad experience there. i think i can honestly say i have always had a good one.
my reasons for loving kinkos?
- i am incompetent when it comes to copying. if it’s not a plain one sided 8.5×11 paper, i am in trouble. so why not trust the hands of a master?
- about every other time i am in there they let me have my copies without charge. by using the “innocent girl who is lost without their help” bit, i can get them to comp up to 4 bucks of copies!!! (i know that’s not a lot of money, but that can get you far in the copying world) maybe i am secretly ruthless, but hey, it is also working in their favor, causing me to come back next time…every time.
yesterday when i was in i asked for two copies, and instead of grumbling and taking it to the back copier, the man cheerfully took me over to the machine and taught me how to do it all on my own. and instead of taking me up to the counter to pay, he let me walk out with a two free copies and a free lesson!
the only problem: by teaching me how to do it on my own, i have to put my own debit card in the slot beforehand, meaning no more bats of the eyelashes at the counter towards a free ticket. and because i actually do know how to do what i need now, i would feel bad lying and going up to the counter with that well used look of need in my eyes.
dangit…they’ve uncovered my evil scheme for good, free copies!!!
i hate kinkos…

disclaimer: i do realize how much of a freak i am…
so i received my most favorite wedding gift ever (and maybe regular gift of all time)…
at work my boss asked me real quick to go on an errand with her. after asking, i found out we were going to ‘lumen’, an amazing lighting store that we purchase shades, and finials from, as well as have rewiring done on antique fixtures. this store is one of those stores that i drool in every time i go in. it is literally filled with lamps; you cannot see the walls as they are covered in shelves from floor to the ceiling stocked with lamps of all shapes, sizes, colors and styles. it is actually quite difficult to manuever through because there are so many lamps that you have about a 2 foot pathway meandering through the sections. as you approach the back desk you are greeted by a number of stacks of lampshades, all about as tall as me.
well, to my surprise, as we are getting out of the car she tells me we are going to pick out a lamp that i want. she said i could get any lamp i wanted for our house. for me! talk about a kid in a candy store. and even cooler is the fact that because we work with this store we often take lamps and shades out on approval. instead of pick one and hope it works, i got to take three home to try out!!!
i was definitely a happy camper as i drove home with three guests in my car- totally unique, funky (and expensive) lamps strapped into the buckles of the three extra seats of my car.
of course, wil wasn’t too sure about my taste (he didn’t like any of them) but i absolutely adore the one i chose. so here are the three i picked out… with third place… a small rectangle lamp with veneer of horn. it looks like tortoise in real life.

second place was a tall heavy lamp made of what i was told is jade with a large drum shade…

and the winner is…a cream glass and metal lamp (on acrylic base) with a curved cylinder shade. the balls of glass have this neat grain of white through them, which looks great with it turned on. it is officially in our future master bedroom (on the big dresser) so i can look at it every night i go to bed and every morning when i wake up!
