kinkos

i decided that you either hate or love kinkos. there is no in between.

i love kinkos…

most of the projects done in school require some sort of complex copying or perfect printing, which obviously requires a bit of outsourcing. more often than not i hear complaints about people going to kinkos and spending way too much money on one print/copy job. or they talk about how rude the people are. but me, i’ve never had a bad experience there. i think i can honestly say i have always had a good one.

my reasons for loving kinkos?

  • i am incompetent when it comes to copying. if it’s not a plain one sided 8.5×11 paper, i am in trouble. so why not trust the hands of a master?
  • about every other time i am in there they let me have my copies without charge. by using the “innocent girl who is lost without their help” bit, i can get them to comp up to 4 bucks of copies!!! (i know that’s not a lot of money, but that can get you far in the copying world) maybe i am secretly ruthless, but hey, it is also working in their favor, causing me to come back next time…every time.

yesterday when i was in i asked for two copies, and instead of grumbling and taking it to the back copier, the man cheerfully took me over to the machine and taught me how to do it all on my own. and instead of taking me up to the counter to pay, he let me walk out with a two free copies and a free lesson!
the only problem: by teaching me how to do it on my own, i have to put my own debit card in the slot beforehand, meaning no more bats of the eyelashes at the counter towards a free ticket. and because i actually do know how to do what i need now, i would feel bad lying and going up to the counter with that well used look of need in my eyes.

dangit…they’ve uncovered my evil scheme for good, free copies!!!

i hate kinkos…
