new site

well, as some may notice, this is a new website for me…

feel free to poke around, but i want to let you know a few things:
all of my previous blog entries have been transferred from my old site (spaces.msn)…don’t be mislead and assume that i wrote so much in the last few days that i could fill my archives!

what i am still in the process on is this:

  • photos- i used to continually upload photos of me and wil, stuff happening around here, and my artwork on the old site. i am working on photo album pages right now (not as user friendly/quick than the spaces site), so my hope is to not only transfer all of the previous photos, but to start adding new stuff.
  • lists- this will be expanded from the two cds i have listed (i pooped out one night while in the midst of working on those links). i try to keep it a rotating list, of stuff that i am into at the moment, since my taste is everchanging and i am always hearing about new bands to listen to.
  • layout- i don’t know if i am content with the current layout right now, so bear with me if you visit and the formatting is totally different or even wacky/messed up. ahhh, the excitement of the internet!

just to let ya’ll know….

nfl draft

well, the nfl draft is today, in fact, i am watching it on espn right now. i’ve got a few teams i like and i’ve got a few players i like. it’s always fun to see where those guys end up and it’s fun to see who my favorite teams pick… except for this year. here are some of the picks and how i feel about them.

My Favorite Teams:

San Francisco - Vernon Williams - fine, i wish they would get rid of their three awful quarterbacks and pick one up that can actually do something, but vernon will make a huge difference on the team on offense.
Green Bay - A.J. Hawk - Great pick, he will really build up thier defense which is where they were really lacking last year.
Detroit - Ernie Sims - It was good of them to pick an offensive lineman so they can protect whatever quarterback they may start next year.
New England - not yet picked
Tennessee - Vince Young - The titans are now on my football blacklist. I hate Vince Young and i will root against the titans this year and the following 10 years.

Players I have my eye on:

Matt Leinert - Arizona Cardinals - It’s good that he stayed in the Pac10, he’ll have the support he needs, i wish he would’ve gone to a team i cared about, though.

Reggie Bush - New Orleans Saints - Again, i wish i cared about the saints…but i don’t. I will be rooting for bush, but not the saints.

LenDale White - Tennessee - crap… i love lendale white, but now i hate tennessee because of vince young… what to do…
I’m going to keep watching this until i have to leave for work. I’ll update my list once more picks are in and the draft is over.

what i’m working on

close view sheer dwg
as i have mentioned many times before, i am working on drawings for a house that is currently being built. here’s a view of about a third of the front of the house…a more close up view of my drawing…although what you are looking at is almost actual size (the first and only completed drawing thus far). i would show the whole drawing, but i am currently trying to figure out how to best show it…a photo of the drawing doesn’t show detail as well, and the drawing is an 11×17, so it doesn’t quite fit on my little scanner. hopefully more views to come!

golf

i just got to play my first (9-hole) round of the season!!! more to follow…

i played with 2 guys who thought they were awesome; they were on the range smacking their drivers. another guy played with us who was about my age and more timid like me. The two arrogant guys wanted to play from the championship tees… no problem… except that i don’t even have a driver.

the two guys that thought they were awesome hacked it up all through the course. right, then left, then chunk then top…. it was hack after hack. the other guy and i weren’t so bad; i played much better than i expected for my first round of the season and shot about 12 over par (9 holes).
it was a nice day and i had a lot of fun playing with those guys. next up… a round with jeff later next week.

paper writing

well, i’m really supposed to be writing a paper right now.  the only problem… i’m uncomfortable.  i don’t have my coffee, i don’t have any music with me and i am cold.  it’s tought to focus when i’m not in my ‘regular’ writing setting.

this morning i had my final test in my computer class.  i really shouldn’t call it a test, though.  i finished in ten minutes and left the class before anyone else, 45 minutes before class ended!  it was easy and i think i got an ‘a’ in the class, we’ll see.  i have to show up next monday to class… just because; i guess it’s so she can say we did something on the final day of class.  no problem

it’s insane that i only have about two weeks left here in nashville before flying to oregon for the wedding.  i have so much to do, but at the same time, it seems like so little.  for school, i only have one paper to write (the one i am procrastinating right now) and a revision and re-write of that paper, i also have to record a thirty minute counseling session with someone for my counseling class.  i have to write a response to that and a response to a book i am supposed to read for the same class.  not too much for finals, eh?

well, i’m going to get to writing this paper.  catch y’all later.

new website

yep, looks a bit different… doesn’t it?

well, as many of you have known, i have been wanting to incorporate comments into my weblog for quite some time. i tried with the forum…it didn’t pick up. and with publisher (what i have been using) there is no such feature that i know of. so… i searched around and found this great blogging software that can be used in many different ways. wordpress is my new favorite thing and if you are interested in blogging software like mine, check out their website at wordpress.org

i have created a few pages that i urge you to check out. the photos pages have galleries in them and the webcam is just that. i have created links to my favorite sites and to my favorite people. if you have a link you’d like to see, or would like me to link to your website, shoot me an email and i’ll most likely put it up.

i still want to create a place where i can display my writing and i haven’t quite figured out how i want to do that yet. i guess it will be a work in progress for the time.

this new software is not only cool, it allows me to post from anywhere, which means i don’t have to upload a page every time i change something, which means i can update more often with smaller posts. so, check back for updates…there’s sure to be plenty!
